Head’n Home has been proudly handcrafting hats in the U.S.A. for over 40 years. We offer superior quality and design across 6 distinct product lines, to guarantee that we have a hat for any occasion, whether it be a functional hat for everyday work, to a stunning fashion accessory for a red carpet event.

Each hat we offer is handcrafted in our 17,000 sq. foot factory in Watsonville, California. Exacting quality, worthy materials, and superior quality and workmanship is the name of the game when it comes to how we manufacture our products. To show that we confidently stand behind each of our products, we offer an unconditional lifetime guarantee on our entire line. With an undeniable passion for innovation, involvement in our community, and business practices that are forward thinking, our team has become a model for conscious business practices.

From the humble beginnings of our founder, Gary Watrous, selling handmade leather goods out of the back of a Chevy station wagon, to becoming a large company with a global presence, Head’n Home has adapted and innovated throughout the decades and now have integrated several family members into key parts of the business. Garth, Gary’s son, has assumed command of the company and is driving Head’n Home to new heights. In 2017, Garth was elected president of the Headwear Association and has been using this position to impact the worldwide hat industry in new ways! Lee Watrous, Gary’s brother, has been an invaluable team member since the mid 1980’s. His business knowledge and popular hat designs have been great resources that have driven this company forward. Gary’s sister, Ronia Grillos, is a dedicated team member, with her motivation and creative influence bringing a lot of energy into the company. Her artistic vision has benefitted our marketing and display endeavors to guarantee that we show our hats in the best light. Hannah Watrous, Garth’s wife and Gary’s daughter-in-law, has stepped up to the plate in the company and become director of global marketing. Her enthusiasm and dedication to Head’n Home has brought much life into the business and her caring, generous spirit has built many worthwhile relationships with our customers and fellow businesses. We take the love and support we give each member of our family and transfer it to not just our other team members, but to every one of our customers also, to guarantee that everyone who walks through that door leaves satisfied.

Head’n Home is constantly evolving by welcoming in new talented minds to usher in fresh ideas and designs. These collaborations insure that we can offer the most relevant and interesting products to the world. Merry-Lee Rae is a world-renown, award winning cloisonné artist. Her 30 years of enameling experience help translate her artistic vision into her stellar designs. Her hats have been key additions to several of our brands and continue to amaze anyone who sees them. Merry-Lee has said she sees herself as “a dedicated romantic expressing love of life through my art.” And speaking of romance, Merry-Lee happens to be married to our talented founder, Gary Watrous. In the 1970’s, they met at an art festival when their booths happened to be placed next to each other.

Running our airbrushing station and laser engraver is Rigoberto “Rigo” Arenas. His expertise in both of these mediums is clearly evidenced in many of our styles, such as the Draco and Kraken. He has been an invaluable team member by bringing his unique energy and one-of-a-kind designs to our company. Rigo’s hat styles have been some of our most popular styles, with their unique attitude catching eyes wherever they go.

Adam Rose, a talented tattoo artist and owner of Fallen Owl Tattoo says he draws inspiration from “the ocean, mountains, and ridiculousness that keeps daily life entertaining.” Creating art on many mediums, such as tattoos, acrylics, watercolor, and now leather, Adam’s creative experience and energy has made this a worthwhile collaboration. His ingenuity and flare for the imaginative has certainly made this place a little more interesting.

Ruby Roxanne Agresta’s inspiring attitude and level of talent and passion brightens everyone’s day when she walks in. Her gorgeous work has been featured on the runway at New York Fashion Week for Tumbler and Tipsy, San Diego Fashion Week for the Vaughnberry “Echoes” fashion show, and on the cover of Lux-PR magazine, where one of her custom couture hats was featured. Ruby’s ever-growing line, “Ruby Roxanne Designs exclusively for American Hat Makers” fits right at home with her iconic specialty leather jewelry. Ruby has expanded her couture headwear line to give us the ability to truly offer the most eye-catching, unique and artfully tasteful hats in the world. Ruby’s exacting eyes insure that all of our materials are carefully selected and her masterful technique guarantees that every detail of her finished product is flawlessly executed.
